Chicken Pot Pie

Kim made homemade chicken pot pie for dinner tonight and it was SO good. The only pot pie I’d ever had before was the frozen kind, in which the chicken and vegetables are just kind of eh: not very fresh, not very nicely textured, not very good. So I never really liked pot pie before, and had told Kim this, and I went into tonight’s endeavor not expecting to be too crazy about it. But it was amazing, and now I know I do like pot pie as long as it’s fresh.

How rude! From now on, you can go into it privately expecting not to like it, but don’t tell her that! If someone is going through the trouble to make you dinner, I think that you should be appreciative no matter what. I know from experience that it is already hard making something new, being worried that the other person isn’t going to like it makes it worse...
That being said, I make it fresh sometimes, too, and I love it!

This was my fault because I asked if Anthony liked chicken pot pie. He said that he didn’t care for it, but that he’d only had the frozen kind. Since I love chicken pot pie, I decided to take a chance and see if he liked it. I was so nervous; right before we sat down I told him that there were hotdogs in the fridge if he hated it, hehe. I was so excited when he actually enjoyed it!

Settle down there, cranky. We always talk about what we’re going to make for dinner, regardless of which of us actually makes it, and we say whether we like it, or feel like having it, etc. It’s not rude, and of course we appreciate each other’s work regardless.

And no, I’m not going to secretly expect to dislike something without telling her. That’s ridiculous. It makes much more sense to just say whether you like or dislike a particular dish beforehand.
