No Country for Old Men

No Country for Old Men: great movie, with great dialog, and lots of great little rabbit-trail stories told throughout the movie.  Interestingly there was almost no background music, unlike most thrillers where you know what’s about to happen because of the changes in the music.

maybe i need to watch it again but i don’t remember there really being a score at all, just creepy ambient noise, if even that.  it does make it rule a lot more when action scenes come up.

Yeah, I think that’s about right.

Agreed.  I really liked this movie until [major spoiler] occurred off-screen.  Not to mention the botched Sopranos-like ending.  The bulk of the film is really well made though and it’s one of the most consistently tense movies I’ve ever seen.
