Yay, Ffox is winning! Five market percent down, 85 or so to go :)
In another article linked from that site, I saw this:
"We’re seeing companies interested in the browser, but they’re reluctant to change because their Web-based applications are compatible with Internet Explorer," he said. "For more [corporate] Firefox adoption, software vendors will have to stop relying on IE functionality and accept the Firefox standard."
That’s true in essence, but the last line is misleading -- there is no "Firefox standard" that vendors need to adhere to. IE is crappy in large part because of the fact that it blatantly disregards standards when it renders webpages. Firefox, on the other hand, prides itself on being extremely standards-compliant, and most other non-IE browsers (Opera, Safari, Konqueror...) strive for the same goal. IE’s standards non-compliance is the bane of most web-programmers, because any layout that’s even slightly complicated usually renders differently in IE than in all other browsers. As a result, you need to resort to lots of little hacks and (gasp!) even browser-sniffing at times in order to serve different code to IE users than to the rest of the world, in order to get your layout to look the same across all browsers.
