That’s crap though, since obviously the way I talk is the correct way. There’s obviously some problem with the test, and I really scored a 100% under "General American English."
My results were similar to yours, which is not much of a surprise to me since I live in NY and you live in PA. Here are mine:
50% General American English
35% Yankee
15% Dixie
0% Midwestern
0% Upper Midwestern
It seems I am a bit more dixie, and less Upper Midwestern than you. I’m surprised that either of us have ANY dixie, since we’re not near the south at all. Oh well.
One last thing. Although we scored differently, I agree with you that I obviously speak correctly and deserve a 100% under "General American English".
50% General American English
30% Yankee
10% Dixie
10% Upper Midwestern
0% Midwestern
It seems I’ve scored very similarly to everyone else and I got to learn some new terms along the way! Huzzah! (I might be .5% European Renaissance English too). One thing’s for sure - I know I got the soda question right.
