Hells Hollow and Hell Falls at McConnells Mill

Kim and I took a short trip to McConnells Mill this evening, but we entered the park at a different place than on our last trip.  We saw signs listing a few different sections/trails, one of which was "Hells Hollow," so we decided to check it out.  It turns out it's just a little stream with a nice serene little path that goes down to "Hell Falls," which weren't hellish in the slightest.

Kim's camera was having lots of trouble focusing, so most of her photos didn't turn out the way she wanted, but as a result she did get two really cool shots, including a quite freakish one of me.

"PLEASE USE CAUTION. THIS IS A REMOTE AREA -- EMERGENCY RESCUE IS DIFFICULT."

Here Kim is standing in the bottom of a small brick-walled cylindrical room that's built into the ground. Apparently it was some sort of kiln in ages past.

Looking up from inside the kiln. It was maybe 15 feet high.

Hell Falls.

Hell Falls. Nice of hell to provide that staircase though.

On the drive home we saw this baby animal.

The moon followed us for a while as we drove.
