The Beefalo, need I say more??

One day I went driving on some backroads about half an hour from school.  I came to a winding stone road that eventually went by a huge pasture.  Bear in mind, this is Allegheny Mountain country, so stone roads and huge pastures are not too uncommon.  Uncommon, though, is what I found in this pasture.  I found three buffalo!  This was amazing to me, since I was born and raised in the far suburbs of Philadelphia.  I'd never seen a buffalo in my life, except on TV or in the movies.  But apparently the owner of this huge pasture is raising these buffalo in it.

Well that was about 3 or 4 months ago, and at the time, I wasn't sure whether these huge creatures were buffalo or not.  When I saw them, I thought, "hey, look, buffalo!", but really I had no idea if that's what they were.  When I came home from my drive and told my roommates and my friends, they tried to convince me that there are no buffalo around here.  So I supposed that they might be correct.

I happened to be in the market for a digital camera, so I decided that I'd get one and come back and take pictures of my new friends.  In the meantime, however, I didn't want to call them buffalo, because people didn't believe me.  So I called them beefalo, on the off-chance that if they weren't buffalo, they might be grossly oversized cows.

Well here are the photos.  At least one of the people who had scoffed at me before changed his mind, and agreed that those are definitely buffalo.
