subject? where to sign in. that’s the subject. you know some people don’t adjust well to change. it can be quite a shock to log on and not be able to sign in, ya know. of course, then again, well, ok. the sun will come out tomorrow ;-)

Hmm, ok, but I didn’t change anything... once you type in your name, it stays set until the cookie expires, which happens in like a week, or a couple weeks, I forget which. Or if you clear your browser’s cookies, that’ll do it too. But that’s the way it’s always been; I haven’t changed that code in a long time. But I’ll come up with a place to stick a logout button.
:-) Thanks, you’re too good to me! I just couldn’t understand where that little box went to at the top of this web page. When I would write my name using two words, like ’your mom’ I’d get a message box pop up that said I couldn’t use spaces. So that’s why ’memom’ is one word. But a ’logout’ button? I thought it was a login button. Whatever....thanks again.
Yeah, the box at the top of the page, but it goes away once you type your name into it; it always has. So you’re "logged in" once you’ve typed your name, and if you want to change your name, you’d have to log out so the box comes back, and you can re-login.
The logout button is actually something that’s been on the back burner for a long time, and I always sorta wondered if people were like "ok, how do I change my name now?"
There is now a "log out" link below the Last 5 Visitors list (but only if you’ve logged in). Let me know if it doesn’t work, or if it’s not visible for you (I don’t have a Windows system running right now so I can’t test how it looks in Mozilla/Win or in Internet Explorer).
Oops. I had updated the script on the old server but not the new one. It’s a pain trying to maintain two copies of a website on two different servers. Anyway it should be fixed now.
