I work for Orange County California Landfills and although I don’t work directly with hazardous waste, I know that monitors are categorized as such.  We have to refer the public to an outside company that can take the monitors.  In California, they are not allowed to go into the ground.

So if you can’t bury them then their spirit is free to roam earth.  I saw a movie about this.  The spirits were restless and angry and started causing mayhem.  They killed all kinds of people and there were those scary scenes where some unsuspecting actor is walking through an empty condemned home yelling "hello".  Then one of these computer monitors came up behind it real quick and there was a close up of the guy’s face as he was screaming and it was real scary-like.  Man I almost peed my pants on that one.

So I guess what I’m trying to get at is that they may not bury them in California but we should definitely bury them here so they may rest in peace.

Ahahahaah!  But dude, my mom’s monitor is already possessed, there’s no possible way it could get any worse than it already is.  That thing is pure evil.  The depths of the earth can’t stop it.

Patrick... I always wondered what the "iwmd" in your hostname was about.  Now I know.

Whew, I just KNEW I would get the most up-to-the-minute technologically sound, environmentally safe, politically correct disposal solution to my monitor dilemma from your web site Anthony, from you and all your knowledgeable friends.  Thank you especially to the Infinitely Wicked Monitors Division (I fear asking division of what???).  You were most informative.  By the way, I did a google search for that exact name and couldn’t find you.....hmmmm.  And a big thanks also to my very best favorite researcher in the pharmaceutical/chemical plant killer manufacturing company (I never could get the connection there).  Now I can’t sleep at nite without the lights on.

But hey, I’m starting to like my office design motif of an extra monitor sitting beside my desk staring at me with that blank look on its screen.  Maybe I’ll let the grandbabies use it for their ’shrinky-dinks’ or just color on it.

Seriously, I found many recycling places online as well as locally.  I just wanted to see what kind of discussion my question would generate here.  It was fun.  Thanks for brightening my day!
