Things to love!
- Driving a 5-speed.
- Driving.
- Driving in the snow.
- The snow!
- Seeing people use my software on their websites and photo albums
and such.
- Fall and Spring. Ok, Summer and Winter too, but what I really
love is when the seasons change.
- Shopping at Best Buy. I love it there because the people are
so darn friendly. You walk in, and there's a guy standing by the
door, whose job it is to say "Hi, welcome to Best Buy, how are you doing
today?" It never fails. And when you leave, it doesn't matter
how hard you try to sneak past nor how fast you go, he always manages to
say "Have a good day!"
- Uninterruptible Power Supplies, mainly because at my house, the
power goes out about 3 times a month.
- Going to school in a city. Granted it's a small city, but
walking to classes and around the main streets, you're surrounded by
tons of people and shops... and while there are no skyscrapers, 6- and
7-story buildings are common, and some go into the 20s of stories.
And the fact that it's small area-wise is what makes it feel so much
like a big city, because it's packed in terms of population density.
It's just so much more interesting than going to school in a more
rural setting.
- Building websites.
- Programming anything in Perl.
- Shopping at The Shoe Fly in State College. The one guy, James,
who works there, is the most helpful and friendly salesman I have ever
met. I'm a pretty indecisive person, especially when it comes to
something like sneakers that I'm going to drop $100 on and have to wear
for a year or two. I was in the store for a full hour, and this
guy was answering allkindsa questions from me, explaining different
stuff about how brand X does this better than brand Y, and how
flex is more important than support if you're doing this kind of
activity, etc. And on top of all that, he was just a nice and
funny guy. I would gladly buy footwear from there, even if it
costs $10 or $20 more than Foot Locker or wherever, because the
customer service makes all the difference.
- Having short hair.
- Girls with long hair.
- Driving on new tires. It's almost like having a brand new car --
the tires are your only connection to the road, so the quality and
condition of your tires is one of the most important factors in the
quality of your ride. Now granted, I love to drive... but to me, one
of the best feelings in the world is driving away from the tire store
with a new set of tires holding me to the road.
