Ardour Notes

Ardour is a free multitrack hard-disk recorder (HDR) that runs on Unix-ish systems.  It uses jack and alsa to talk to audio hardware, so the cards/devices that ardour supports are the ones that jack and alsa support (which is quite a lot of them).

This page is just a collection of my notes on using ardour.

To apply a plugin to a given track, go to the mixer window and right-click in one of the empty black rectangles (under input to apply the plugin to the signal as it's recorded, or under output to apply the plugin to the recorded signal (non-permanently) during playback), and choose the plugin option.  To configure the plugin, ctrl-rightclick on its name in the black box (or use the route parameters window).
