Does God Change?
The bible makes it clear that God doesn't change and his Word doesn't change.
Malachi 3:6:
For I am the LORD, I change not;
Hebrews 13:8:
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
James 1:17:
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father
of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Mark 13:31:
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
Revelation 22:18-19:
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this
book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the
plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from
the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of
the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are
written in this book.
Psalms 12:6-7:
The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth,
purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them
from this generation for ever.
1 Corinthians 14:33
God is not the author of confusion...
So besides plainly stating that he does not change, God says that his words would not pass away, that no one should change any of his words, that his words would be preserved forever, and that he's "not the author of confusion." It would be both confusing and contradictory for God or his Word to change.
