> so what exactly is wrong with being gay?
It’s sinful. I’ve stated that plainly in the truth section.
> if jesus loves everyone like he says he does,
> then whats wrong with homosexuals.
It’s sinful. I’ve stated that plainly in the truth section.
> doesnt that mean you should love them too?
Of course. I’ve stated that too, in the truth section. I love all people, all people are sinners, homosexuality is sinful, I love homosexuals nonetheless.
> its caused by chaos in your brain.
That may be your opinion, but it’s not a widely-held one. Currently the three most widely accepted opinions are that 1) it’s inborn, 2) it’s a change caused by events in one’s life, and 3) it’s purely a choice.
> people cant help that i hope you know.
I don’t "know" and neither do you. Every case is different and there has been no conclusive research proving any one theory over the others. If you have evidence to the contrary please present it.
> now...please, please enlighten me. tell me how smileys can be *homosexual*
I didn’t say that, I said they are gay. Gay is defined as "happy", but in slang, gay can mean either uncool/lame/etc or homosexual. I think it’s pretty clear that I meant the former.
> i dont think that is what jesus would say.
You can think what you want, but the fact is that you have no idea what Jesus would say. But I personally don’t think he’d have a particularly strong opinion on Instant Messenger smilies. Furthermore I doubt he’d take my comment out of context, as you did, and assume that I meant homosexual.
> dont discriminate.
Don’t use loaded words out of context. I don’t discriminate any more than you do, or any more than anyone else does. Discrimination is the process of making choices and using good judgment. If you meant "don’t discriminate against homosexuals," then you should have said that. Then my reply would have been "I don’t." If this confuses you, look up the word and you’ll understand.
> i hope you feel like [oops].
I hope you stop using vulgarities and learn to articulate your opinions more clearly.
> before your go around saying your a christian. watch just what the [oops] you say.
Before you go around posting anti-Christian flames on the internet, learn what a Christian is. A Christian is one who accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and believes in his teachings. That is precisely what I do. My statements on the issue of homosexuality are not born of my own ideas; rather, they’re explanations of what Jesus said in his word.
> there are such people who are homophobes you ignorant [oops]. people
> who are constantly harrasing gay people, and use such words as gay to
> describe online smileys...((YOU))...are homophobes.
No, a homophobe is a person who is afraid of gay people. Someone who describes online smilies as gay, which is a slang term meaning uncool/lame/etc, is... just a regular person who happens to dislike online smilies. The fact that you can’t decipher a word’s meaning based on its context doesn’t make me a homophobe.
> those are people who are scared of gays because they dont understand
> it, and that scares them.
I highly doubt that there is anyone who is "scared of gays because they dont understand it and that scares them". But in any case, I understand it just fine, it’s sin, that’s all there is to it. It does not scare me.
> and it makes them feel better if they constantly put down homosexuals.
I don’t put down homosexuals, so I can’t comment on that. I have just pointed out that God has told us that it is sin.
> and im sure you have met those guys who loooove lesbians,
> but hate gay men. why? because people fear what they cant
> understand.
Your conclusion is flawed. A guy who "loooove"s lesbians but hates gay men probably does so because he’s attracted to women but not to men... not because he understands lesbians but does not understand gay men. There is no logic in what you said.
> your putting down gay people.
No, I’m not. I’m explaining God’s word, and you are putting me down. You’ve accused me falsely without even attempting to back up your claims, and you’ve called me names and cursed at me.
If you believe that I’m putting down homosexuals, then quote me and explain why my quote is doing so. Don’t curse, don’t change the subject, and don’t use loaded words in place of actual intelligent dialogue on the matter. You’ll have a lot of trouble proving that I put down homosexuals, because I don’t. I just state that I believe God’s word, which says that homosexuality is a sin, and that we are to love homosexuals anyway, just like everyone else. I’ve stated that already.
> being gay can be caused by [oops] thats all [oops] up in your brain. you cant help that.
I’ve already answered that. Stating it twice doesn’t make it any more true.
> how are they not being honest by calling someone a homophobe???
I’ve answered that too.
> get out of your bubble.
I don’t live in a bubble. I live in the real world, where people have to substantiate their claims. You live in a bubble, where you believe that by merely repeating things over and over, they become true. Or that by using enough words out of context you can "prove" your point. Or that by cursing, you somehow make your flawed argument more tenable, thereby compensating for your misunderstanding of the actual issues involved.
