Yeah, I do. All you have to do is get a digital photo of yourself onto your computer, and crop it around the head. It doesn’t matter what size the cropped area is, as long as it’s square, not rectangular. Then just go to gravatar.com, create an account, and upload the image (all of which is completely free). Then whenever you post on a gravatar-enabled website (like this one), it will display your gravatar if you enter your email address.
Or if anyone here wants one, you can just email me the photo and I’ll send you back the cropped-head version. In particular, if you JUST do a crop, you won’t get the transparent background like I have on my avatar. That takes a little bit of experience with photo editing.
So... Rolly beat me to the punch, but I did want to post about this new feature and say how cool I think it is. For one thing, the idea of an avatar that is consistent across the internet is really cool. But the best part is that having your photo (though of course it can actually be a photo of whatever you want) next to your writings helps make a website a lot more personal and "real life"-like.
As long as the floating heads don’t scare people off, that is.
