More Colorado Photos!

Kim just added photos of a bike ride and a horseback ride to her website.  Of all the cool things we did in Colorado last month, these were two of my favorite.  The bike ride was so scenic, winding along and crossing over the Yampa river lots of times, and it was a beautiful, sunny, blue-skies day.  The horseback ride was great because I’d never ridden a horse before, and we saw some amazing views of mountains and endless fields and lush green valleys, with no civilization in sight.

Gravatar Offline?

It appeared that gravatar was down, or otherwise broken, but it turns out they are just having DNS issues.  So while gravatar.com doesn’t work, you can still access the site via its IP address, http://64.124.231.223/.  I’ve temporarily coded my blog to access it that way until the domain name starts working again.

PETA BUSTED

I saw this advertisement in US News & World Report about PETA’s animal practices.  I guess it is not lucrative enough, so they skipped the "caring for animals" part and went straight to the legal blackmail and fund raising.

Be sure to check out their children’s literature.  PETA is their own worst enemy.

Brothers

My mom took this photo last year at my grandmom’s birthday party:

The photo set never made it onto her site, but I saw a print of this photo on her desk this weekend, and thought it was awesome.

So, what’s wrong with it? Please write back. Thanx, Maria

Making Life Hard for the Math-Impaired

Why is it that distances on road signs are always in quarter-miles or eighth-miles, when the odometers in our cars are in tenth-miles?

Oh, and in case I’m at the shore for the next 3 days, don’t say anything bad about watermelon while I’m not here to defend it.

Summertime...

...summer, summer, summer-tiiime, oooh the summertime... doot doot pause doot doot...

Anyway, Kim and I had some watermelon yesterday.  If you’re ever not sure what season it is, that’s one good way to check.  If you’re eating fresh watermelon it’s probably summer.

It was delicious too, and that is the main point I’m trying to make.  Other fruits must be so jealous of watermelon.  I like most fruit, but there’s really no comparison.  I mean what other fruit is four times as big as your head, is hard and dry on the outside, and is hiding a cool, juicy, sweet, red paradise on the inside?

I also love raspberries and strawberries, but they are still no match for watermelon.
