Holy Cow

My mom just shook the hand of the most powerful man in the world!!  President Bush rolled through Pottstown, and his bus stopped right in front of where my mom and sister were standing.

Hometown represent!

I did have my camera with me, on the chance that I might be able to get a glimpse of President Bush.  As soon as I get Anthony to tell me how, I’ll post them here.  What an awesome experience to shake hands with the standing President of the United States, up close and personal.

Since your server is currently hosed (thanks, Microsoft) I’ll post a few of them here.  Man I can’t wait to get Linux running there.  Being able to do real remote administration will be nice... not to mention, what could be cooler than saying my mom runs Linux? (:

This blogger had a very different approach to seeing our president up close: http://www.livejournal.com/users/jiveturky/185733.html.  I’d much rather hear of things like this happening to Kerry, but I figured I’d note this, since unfortunately some people just can not or will not respect our president.

"Down with big brother!!!  America is a police state, just like in 1984!!  We can’t even think things that the government disapproves of, or the thought police will take us away!!!" ... they said, as they protested freely against the government, and walked away from it freely.

I feel bad for these people, thinking about how hopelessly stupid they are, to be able to make those statements and fail to realize that the very act proves that the entire argument is false.

But when you’re young, it’s cool to say that the government is evil.  And let’s face it, those guys were really cool.

And check it out, my mom got a photo of Bush giving Alf a left-hand high-five.  You can’t quite see it because of the glare and everything, but it really happened:

Thanks, A, for posting the photos.  That link to the other blog about the Bush haters is very sad.  I’m sure there are many more out there.  I don’t support what Mr. Kerry stands for but I wouldn’t resort to foul language and bashing to disagree.  If nothing else, people need to respect the office of the Commander-in-Chief.  Most people just need to grow up.
